The Florida Youth council pushed for the passing of Senate Bill 856 back in 2008. This bill mandated that the first two weeks of October to be “Disability History and Awareness Weeks” in Florida public schools. This year the council celebrates the bill’s success by dedicating the October issue of The Noodle to Disability History and Awareness.
