Hi, my name is Leah Gorman, and I have been part of the Florida Youth Council for the past 5 years. I would definitely say that we have helped advocate for people with disabilities. When you attend our various events, such as the Family Cafe and the lovely summit, you’ll see firsthand what we do. I have to admit that I enjoy meeting more people and helping those with disabilities. One thing I want to tell you is that I participate in a variety of activities outside of the board to utilize my council. I participate in sports and attend various competitions, but my favorite activity is volunteering at the events I attend. I say, I definitely like to advocate for people with disabilities, so I can help to teach them or help them to empower them, which is why I say no to a lot of things. It’s so I don’t have a negative person trying to bring me down in my life or in my activities, or in anything. They are trying to stop me.
