Hey there, I’m Derek! I’ve been around here for a while so let me take a moment and introduce myself in case you’re new to the FYC! I live up in Tallahassee, born and raised there. I have cerebral palsy thanks to a stroke. I joined the FYC 13 years ago so I could help make a difference for other youth and emerging leaders with disabilities and have loved every minute of being a member. I’m now considered an alumni member. I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Information Technology and now work at my alma mater. I’ve been there six years now and I enjoy it. I’m also an avid fan of all things FSU athletics, especially for their football team! Go Noles! I’ve been married for four years now to my beautiful wife and our little baby girl is now two years old. Outside of work and the FYC, I enjoy the beach, going camping and going to church. I also enjoy staying home and watching something good on TV or plugging in a movie when time allows. I tend to stay busy these days but that’s me in a nutshell!
